North Somerset Cricket League KO Cup&Shield

 

Welcome to the North Somerset Cricket League's Knockout Competitions website

The North Somerset Cricket League runs two Knockout Competitions each year. Entry to both competitions is restricted to Clubs which are full members of the North Somerset Cricket League.
The Cup Competition for the Arthur Skirton Memorial Trophy was inaugurated in 1979, the first winners were Keynsham A who beat Saltford in the final.
For sides knocked out in the first (and where played preliminary) round of the Cup a Shield Competition has been held since 1988 for the Terry Northcott Memorial Plate. Matches in both Competitions are played in the evening over 20 overs with a 4 over restriction on bowlers. In the Semi-finals (played on a Sunday morning)and Finals there are fielding restrictions requiring at least 4 fielders to be positioned within a 20 metre circle.The Finals are played on a neutral ground, Brislington CC at Ironmould Lane Brislington have in recent years hosted the event with the 2 games being played simultaneously. August Bank Holiday Monday has now become the traditional date for these fixtures with a noon start.
